Rachel Perry Welty.

For her ‘Lost in my Life’ series American artist Rachel Perry Welty uses thousands of the throw away items and takes these ordinary items to create works of art with texture, complexity and meaning. She describes: “most of us don’t pay much attention to the mundane objects we use everyday, like the twist ties that hold the plastic wrap on our bread and the broccoli together or the little paper cups that we pull out of a water dispenser.”

There was a time when I really wanted a swiss army knife. It may seem kind of random. While I was traveling in Greece a good friend of mine had received one before the trip and it always seemed to come in handy. She got a splinter, used the tweezer, we bought a bottle of wine that did not have a twist top, we used the corkscrew...etc. Canadian lifestyle label Hudson’s Bay has just released this Swiss Army Knife that has stripes like this Pendleton Wool blanket. I like.
