ONE FROSTY LEMON
loving how subdued the colors are in this flower arrangement by sarah of saipua. they look kind of wintery and it's so chilly here, they fit the mood perfectly. i always love the arrangements saipua does, maybe someday i'll travel over there to take a class...
THE ART OF PESTO
the etsy blog has just posted a bit with kinfolk magazine on the art of pesto. the recipe they used is from heidi swanson of 101 cookbooks. if only more recipes could be portrayed this way... pesto is one of those things that is either right or wrong wrong wrong. it's so easy to make it too strong - i've had a couple of close encounters after ordering it. i'm thinking i'll need to give this recipe a whirl and see what happens. to read the article on etsy go here.

TEA TIME.
one of my resolutions this year was to start drinking more tea, especially in the evening (vs. brewing more coffee). shortly after the new year began my sister bought some tea from teavana and let me try. honestly, so delicious! i never thought i could say that about tea, but obviously i was misguided. we had a blend of blueberry bliss rooibos and strawberry lemonade herbal tea with a little added sugar. teavana is a bit out of my price range currently ($6.80 for 2 oz.) so i needed to search for a more affordable option.
and that's where celestial seasonings wild berry zinger! comes in. i also added a bit of sugar to this and it tastes like hot kool-aid - that is supposed to sound appealing, in case you're still unsure. you can serve these teas hot or cold. i picked up celestial seasonings at my local grocery store where it was $2.59 a box. i happened to have a $1.00 off coupon on "double daze" day so only paid $0.59 - it tastes sweeter by the sip!

WHITEPOD WONDERLAND
as i'm sure you're aware, here in the midwest winter has officially struck. the whitepod hotel is nestled in the swiss alps and has me wishing it were in our winter wonderland. would love to spend the weekend in this cozy little getaway. don't you agree?
